About The Mess

As a girl growing up in a small town in the South, I always had a creative spirit. Whether attending college football games and tailgating from age 7 or hitting the stomping grounds of Panama City Beach as a teen, I was always inspired by the fun loving people and charm of The South. If you’ve ever visited this area, or you were lucky enough to grow up here, then you know what I mean!

After relocating to Central Florida as an adult, I was looking for a way to express the unbridled energy and pride of a southern woman. Bringing my memories of the feelings and attitudes of the American South to others was a primary goal and so became Hot Southern Mess®. Biscuits and gravy, Black-eyed peas, Yes ma’am, No ma’am, Manners, Keeping it Classy and Sassy!, Fishing, Beaching, Flip Flops, College Football, Raised on Sweet Tea and Sunshine, Southern Girls!

The Southern Attitude is something only few understand but something all Southern Girls have in common. We’ve all been a Hot Southern Mess® at one time or another!
